Hey I'm Becca, a  Physiotherapist. I love going to the gym, it helps me to think more clearly and is how I release stress. I've been vegan for over four years now and your girl can cook! My sister (and Founder of The Glowcery) calls me Chef whenever I'm in the kitchen.

My skin

Describe your skincare journey

it’s been a bumpy one literally! Up until I was about 22 my skin was clear. I’d occasionally, I'm talking once a year, get one massive spot come up around my nose then go down in about a week’s time. I remember I started to get really bad breakouts during my MSc. I’ve never experienced stress like it, so I think that was the catalyst. I’d develop clusters of spots on my cheekbone area, I’d pick them then that would lead to scarring. A vicious cycle that took me a while to get out of. Now at 28, my skin is a lot more calm. I don't break out as often and I am better at leaving my spots alone.

Tell us about your current skincare routine?

So I wash my face day and night, I use a cleanser, then apply a toner, serum, moisturiser, oil then sunscreen. But leave the sunscreen out of my nighttime routine. I’ll exfoliate once/twice a week and about twice a week i”ll “slug”. The glass finish on my face in the morning is amazing, I love it,

What are your favourite skincare products?

My favourite The Glowcery products are Blue Dew, I love how easy it takes my make up/oily build up off my face. I love Tomato Tonic as well as this has been so soothing for sensitive skin. My favourite moisturiser has to be CeraVe moisturising lotion and my favourite sunscreen has to be bondi sands Face 50spf, it’s not too thick and doesn’t leave my face looking grey like other sunscreens do.

Do you have a skincare tip you’d like to share?

Always apply your sunscreen during the day, even when the sun isn’t out. This has been a game changer for me.

Describe The Glowcery in 3 words.

Effective, Refreshing, Amazing

How does The Glowcery make you feel?

Their products make me feel clean. It is quite a thought provoking brand as it makes me conscious of the things I’m putting into my body.

My selfcare

What does selfcare mean to you?

Getting the things done that I know will allow me to become the best version of myself. For example, being smart with my time to reach a deadline so I’m not overly stressing at the last minute. Or taking a break to sit down and chill for an hour to stop myself from burning out.

How do you relax?

By going to the gym, or putting on a playlist and singing along to it.

My life

Your favourite life motto

What is meant for you will never miss you.

My superpower is?

My humour, my humour is astronomical

My favourite fruit or veg is?

Mango, I love the taste, I just hate how it can get stuck in your teeth.

If we were to look in your fridge, what would we find?

Vegan mayonnaise, chilli oil, oat milk, broccoli and mangetout, a cut open lemon

What I’ve been loving this month

Book/TV

I’m unfortunately hooked to the Handmaid’s Tale, what a harrowing and scary storyline! I’m convinced this happens around the world and it makes me frustrated but I can’t stop watching it. My favourite book at the moment has been Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel S. F. Heller - which has been insightful for me understanding more about what attachment style I have and how I can change it.

Place

Hitchin, I’ve been staying in the area for a couple weeks and it’s been very peaceful and relaxing.

Food/Drink

Roasted aubergine! Limoncello Spritz
